About Me

I'm a 27-year-old fantasy football enthusiast originally from Detroit and now living in Chicago. Yes, I am a Lions fan, and yes it does suck. Why do you think I have so much time to spend on fantasy football? I'm going on my 5th season of fantasy football this year and became the proud owner of some hardware last season. I was also recently hired to be the Senior Writer at FantasyCrowd.com.

First Fantasy Apprentice Champion Crowned!

Team #1

Drew Brees 0 + 16 + 15= 31

Team #2

Peyton Manning 1 + 7 + 34= 42

It was a rather disappointing finish to the Fantasy Apprentice season. Neither quarterbacks were able to finish their season undefeated. Neither put up any stats to ride home about in the final two weeks either. In fact both didn't even play in the final week. Well Peyton played very sparingly, enough to throw for 95 yards and an interception.

Everything came down to the week 16 stats. Brees made a bit of a comeback but only threw for 258 yards and 1 score while Manning threw for 192 yards with no touchdowns. He scored 16 points while Peyton only scored 7. However, Manning was already up almost 20 points due to his huge week 15 performance in which he threw for over 300 yards and 4 touchdowns.

So the time has come for the final firing of the 2009 season. Drew Brees...you're fired. Congratulations to Peyton Manning for becoming the first Fantasy Apprentice Champion!

Manning wasn't even on the original rosters if any of you die-hard Fantasy Apprenticers out there recall. He was actually added after Tom Brady was fired in only the second week. Peyton had an MVP type season in 2009. He was very consistent and deserving of the crown. Although his stats weren't always stellar, it was always enough to get the job done. He did have 4 games in which he threw for 4 touchdown, 3 games in which he threw for three touchdowns and only 3 games that he didn't throw for any touchdowns (only 1 if you don't count the last two games). He threw for 300 yards or more in 10 of his first 11 games. Final stats for 2009 look like this: 33 Td's, 16 Int's, 4500 yards, rating of 99.9...very solid.

Thanks for tuning in everybody. Hope to see you next year. Keep in touch on twitter in the meantime www.twitter.com/daveseidl and let me know if you have any questions or comments. God Bless.
